The Evil World of the Romance Scam Artist

Romance Scams and the Scam Artists who perpetrate them are like no other criminal in the world. They never come into the open and they never get their picture taken. You will never see their pictures on "Wanted" posters in post offices. Even the various law enforcement authorities in the world could pass these Romance Scam Artists on the street and never know who they are. These days, however, Western law enforcement does know the prolific nature of their crimes. Divisions of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Secret Service (Part of U.S. Homeland Security) are working to deal with these Scam Artists.

Vulnerabilities of Potential Romance Scam Victims

"How can someone so intelligent get taken in by a Romance Scam Artist?" This is one of the most common questions the authors receive. The question comes because many in the "Mainstream Media" like to assume that the only people victimized by Romance Scam Artists are "stupid, little old ladies." Even the noted television psychologist, Dr. Phil McGraw, tried to sell the "stupid" theory on his September 20, 2006 Dr. Phil Show television program. Unfortunately for Dr. McGraw, many others in the general public and much of the media, being a victim of a Romance Scam is not a function of mental ability, intelligence or formal education level. It is a matter of emotions, love and compassion.

The reason Romance Scam Artists are so successful is because they know how to get inside the "heart and soul" of their victims. With their "finely-tuned" psychological profiling skills, they make an emotional connection and a bond of trust with their victims. When a victim comes under the scammer's "spell," the scammer can get the victim to do just about anything "in the name of love." When the scams artists are successful, they get their victims to empty their bank accounts and commit felony crimes on their behalf. When law enforcement officials come to call on the victim, the victim is emotionally drained and devastated, confused, humiliated, and ashamed. While the scam artist eludes the reach of local law enforcement, the victim is left to pay for the crimes of the scam artist.

This crime wreaks havoc not only with our finances, but with our emotions--with our very soul. It's one of the most insidious and emotionally devastating of crimes, because it deals with the cherished dreams that we all have embedded in our hearts.

You Do Not Have to Be a Victim!

Cyber Love's Illusions: Anatomy of a Romance Scam digs deep into the evil heart and the ugly underworld of Romance Scamming. The reader will learn how the scam artists work their way into the hearts of their victims, so they can get into their wallets and eventually their lives. The reader will also learn what makes people vulnerable to the wiles of a Romance Scam Artist and what they can do to protect themselves. You do not have to be a victim of these scam artists! This book will show you how to spot and avoid them.

One of the most treasured hopes and dreams most people share is of a soul mate--a special companion, a person to share his or her life with. Scammers know the basic dreams and desires that we all share, and they custom-tailor their lies to our own personal situations, lifestyles, beliefs, and values.

Through careful manipulation and mind control, they prey on our dreams and desires and use them against us, promising us that all of them will come true if we'll only trust them. They successfully create in us a joyful expectation and an illusion of love and partnership.

With their many cruel lies and empty assurances that they dangle in front of us, they string us along, enticing us, luring us and seducing us with their sweet deceit. Little do we know that they're skillfully and cunningly setting us up for the greatest heartbreak and the biggest "crash" of our life.
